Usak

Usak lies north of Denizli in the Aegean Region. It is one of the most renowned and important carpet centres. According to their structure and patterns there are several types of carpets called “star”, “medallion” and “white-ground” Usak carpets. Frequently depicted by European painters during the Renaissance era, they are often given, as a term of convenience, the name of the painter on whose paintings corresponding carpets have been identified.
